Group Aims for Net-Zero Direct Scope 1 and 2 Emissions by 2030

The Group has established a plan to decarbonise its operations, targeting net-zero direct scope 1 and 2 (market-based) emissions by 2030 through a combination of initiatives including procurement of renewable energy, on-site solar power generation, improving the energy efficiency of the store and warehouse network, reducing energy consumption where possible, and rationalisation of the Group’s fleet of vehicles.

Material actions and disclosures

The Group’s scope 1 emissions for FY2026 were 834 t-CO2-e, an increase of 197% since the FY2020 base year, largely due to the acquisition of the e&s business in FY2025 which saw an additional 95 vehicles added to the Group’s fleet of company operated vehicles. The Group plans to reduce its reliance on fleet vehicles which run on fossil fuels over coming years by either phasing out vehicles which are not deemed business critical or transitioning some vehicles to electric or hybrid alternatives at the lease or operating life expiry date.

The Group’s scope 2 emissions for FY2026 were 26,702 t-CO2-e using the market-based method and 60,342 t-CO2-e using the location-based method of emissions accounting. In FY2026, emissions under the market-based method have decreased by 58% or 36,652 t-CO2-e, compared to the Group’s FY2020 base year as a result of the Group’s increased procurement of renewable electricity and use of on-site solar power generation.

The Group progressively increased its procurement of renewable electricity throughout the year, which resulted in 68% of the Group’s energy needs being sourced from renewable energy in FY2026. In the month of June 2026, this increased to 82% of the Group’s energy needs.

Forward commitments

The Group plans to utilise Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) as a last resort to offset residual emissions from Company-owned and operated car fleet where electric or hybrid alternatives are not viable.

The Group’s target and progress is reviewed by the Net-Zero Steering Committee comprising members of the senior management team, with further oversight and governance by the Company’s Audit and Risk Management Committee.
