IGO Limited (IGO) has announced its achievement of a short-term net zero emissions target at the Nova Operation and outlined its long-term goal to pursue net zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions across its operated assets by 2050. The company’s primary focus is on decarbonisation, with a strong emphasis on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving environmental management.
Material actions and disclosures
IGO’s operated assets GHG emissions decreased by 24% overall compared to FY25, with Scope 1 emissions decreasing by 22% and Scope 2 emissions decreasing by 63%. The company has also voluntarily cancelled 46,000 ACCUs before 30 June 2026, based on a conservative estimate of the Nova Operation’s FY26 Scope 1 and 2 emissions.
IGO’s short-term target of net zero Scope 1 and 2 operational emissions at the Nova Operation was reached by 30 June 2025, and this position has been maintained for FY26. The company aims to continue this position until the end of the Nova Operation’s operational life in the quarter ending 31 December 2026.
Forward commitments
IGO has a long-term goal to pursue net zero Scope 1 and 2 operational emissions across its operated assets by 2050 or sooner. This goal reflects the company’s current intention to reduce emissions across its future operated assets as its portfolio evolves over time.
IGO has not developed a climate transition plan setting out a decarbonisation trajectory at this time, but intends to develop an appropriate plan to move towards its long-term decarbonisation goal as operated assets are added to its portfolio.
IGO’s Sustainability Committee met four times in FY26, with climate change included as a regular agenda item at all meetings. The committee provides oversight of IGO’s climate change strategies and systems, and monitors their implementation and compliance.
IGO’s Chief People and Sustainability Officer retains executive management accountability for climate change oversight, and climate-related responsibilities are embedded across the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
