Charter Hall Outlines Key Corporate Governance Developments for FY26

Charter Hall has outlined key corporate governance developments for the fiscal year 2026, focusing on the establishment of robust protocols for managing conflicts of interest and maintaining Net Zero for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.

Material actions and disclosures

The REIT has established protocols for identifying and managing conflicts of interest, including training programs and stress testing. The Board has endorsed the Charter Hall Conflicts of Interest Policy and the Charter Hall Auditor Independence Policy, ensuring a transparent framework for compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.

Charter Hall has also maintained Net Zero for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, a commitment that is supported by its approach to renewables and the execution of its nature-based offset strategy. The REIT has installed 1.4MW of solar across its portfolio, including 55 early learning assets, and extended its partnership with the Goodstart Early Learning Fund to provide fee-free learning for more than 20 families each year.

Other material actions include achieving an ‘A’ ranking under the GRESB Real Estate Assessment and maintaining high employee engagement at 90% with a 95% participation rate. The REIT also continued to contribute to the Property Champions of Change as a founding member and achieved Gold status in the annual Pride in Diversity Australian Workplace Equality Index.

Forward commitments

Charter Hall aims to maintain Net Zero for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, continue to contribute to the Property Champions of Change, and advance its existing Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan by Reconciliation Australia. The REIT also plans to maintain high employee engagement at 90% with a 95% participation rate and maintain a 97% employee participation rate in recommending Charter Hall as an employer.
