Rural Funds Group (RFF) disclosed its FY26 Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, with a focus on agricultural emissions and the implementation of carbon accounting software. The Group also completed baseline sampling for a soil carbon project at Kaiuroo Aggregation and is planning an environmental plantings carbon project at Lynora Downs.
Material actions and disclosures
RFF reported its FY26 Scope 1 emissions at 17,109 tCO2e and Scope 2 emissions at 993 tCO2e. The Group completed the installation of carbon accounting software, which improves the accuracy of emissions data by drawing activity data directly from the Group’s financial system. Additionally, RFF completed baseline sampling for a soil carbon project at Kaiuroo Aggregation, determining initial soil carbon levels.
The Group also installed permanent sample plots (PSPs) across macadamia development sites, enhancing remote monitoring and water-use efficiency. RFF expanded research and development trials across commodities, targeting innovation that supports its aim of producing more with less. The Group secured additional best-practice management certifications across multiple assets, supporting continuous improvement in operational standards.
RFF supported Traditional Owner and community groups to protect threatened species, enhanced worker safety through updated and streamlined systems, and provided funding and resources to locally driven initiatives. The Group also secured a $160,000,000 guarantee to J&F Australia Pty Ltd for cattle purchases and feed.
Forward commitments
In future, RFF plans to report lessee emissions as Scope 3, consistent with AASB S2 requirements. The Group will complete scoping and planning for an environmental plantings carbon project at Lynora Downs, with registration to the Clean Energy Regulator planned for FY27. RFF aims to establish permanent native vegetation on uncropped support land and selected marginal areas, implementing an enhanced rock weathering trial, and certifying under industry-led best management practice programs.
Rural Funds Group’s sustainability initiatives reflect its ongoing focus on continuous improvement and building the value of underlying land and assets over time.
