Bannerman Energy Achieves Key ESG Milestones and Outlines Future Targets

Bannerman Energy Ltd (ASX:BMN, OTCQX:BNNLF, NSX:BMN) reported several key Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) milestones for the fiscal year 2026, including zero Lost-Time Injuries (LTI) and no reportable environmental incidents. The company also introduced a dedicated sustainability management system and the Supply Chain Code of Conduct, reflecting its commitment to sustainable practices.

Material actions and disclosures

Bannerman Energy sustained zero Lost-Time Injuries during the reporting period, maintaining its strong safety performance. The company also reported no environmental incidents, demonstrating a sound environmental record. Additionally, Bannerman introduced a Supply Chain Code of Conduct, which was approved by the Board, to reinforce ethical expectations across its supply chain.

The company advanced its mine closure planning alongside the Etango Project, reviewed and updated the Mine Closure Plan to reflect ongoing project design refinement, and assessed waste-rock types for potential closure applications. Bannerman also expanded workforce capability through ongoing development and training, and continued investing in local communities, particularly in education and youth support initiatives.

Engagement with stakeholders remained active, with regular updates delivered via meetings, site visits, and community publications. The company supported 355 learners in the most disadvantaged primary schools through the Early Learner Assistance (ELA) programme.

Forward commitments

Bannerman Energy aims to achieve zero Lost-Time Injuries during the reporting period, with every supervisor on the Etango site completing one Visible Felt Leadership or Hunt for Risk intervention per week. The company also plans to undertake 100% of scheduled critical risk control verifications and safety assurance audits at the Etango site, and achieve a local Namibian recruitment target of more than 80% employees.

Further, Bannerman aims to establish and operationalise the Human Resources Information System and payroll system, build and implement a structured Corporate Social Investment framework, and establish environmental measurement and reporting systems for water use, water quality, and emissions.

These forward commitments reflect Bannerman’s ongoing commitment to sustainable practices and its continued evolution of governance, management systems, and organisational capability ahead of full-scale construction.
