Star Minerals Outlines Enhanced Corporate Governance and Risk Management Framework

Star Minerals Limited has detailed its commitment to corporate governance, including a robust code of conduct, whistleblower policy, and risk management framework, in its latest corporate governance statement.

Material actions and disclosures

Star Minerals has established a comprehensive Code of Conduct applicable to directors, employees, and relevant contractors and consultants. The company also maintains a Whistleblower Policy to encourage and protect individuals who report breaches of the Code of Conduct. Both policies are available on the company’s website at https://www.starminerals.com.au/site/about/corporate-governance.

The company has also outlined its approach to managing environmental and social risks, which include compliance with environmental and heritage approvals, land disturbance, rehabilitation and mine closure obligations, health and safety, contractor performance, stakeholder engagement, and access to land. These risks are managed through the company’s risk management framework, compliance with applicable legislation, and regular reporting to the Board.

Forward commitments

Star Minerals intends to reconsider the requirement for an internal audit function as its operations grow and evolve. The company will also review the merits of establishing a separate Remuneration Committee as it grows and develops.
