Ramelius Resources Limited has set ambitious targets for its greenhouse gas emissions in 2026 and has already begun implementing renewable energy solutions at its Mt Magnet operation. The company has outlined a total Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions target of 111,276 tCO2-e for 2026, with Scope 1 emissions expected to be 110,720 tCO2-e and Scope 2 emissions 556 tCO2-e.
Material Actions and Disclosures
Ramelius has commenced solar power generation at its Mt Magnet operation in FY25, contributing to a reduction in diesel consumed on site and a decrease in emissions intensity. The company has also applied judgements in the preparation of its climate-related disclosures and has conducted scenario analysis using three climate scenarios: IPCC SSP1-1.5, IPCC SSP5-8.5, and IEA NZE by 2050.
Scope 1 emissions from diesel consumption account for 70% of total emissions, with 81% of diesel emissions from stationary sources, 15% from transportation, and 4% from power generation. Scope 2 emissions from electricity consumption account for 29% of total emissions.
Forward Commitments
Ramelius aims to implement solar and battery deployment at Mt Magnet and progress the hybrid power plant at the site. The company also plans to embed risk-aware practices through the Ramelius Essentials Framework and monitor climate-related risks through Board, Executive, and Committee oversight.
