IPH Limited, an intellectual property services provider listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), has reported its Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for the financial year ending June 2026 (FY26), in accordance with the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) S2 Climate-related Disclosures standard.
Material actions and disclosures
The Group measures its Scope 1 direct GHG emissions, which consist of fugitive emissions from cooling and refrigeration equipment in office environments, and its Scope 2 indirect GHG emissions, which relate to purchased electricity consumed across global office operations. The Group’s Scope 1 and 2 emissions for FY26 are 0.4 tCO2e and 600.0 tCO2e, respectively, with a total of 600.4 tCO2e.
The Group applies the operational control approach to determine its organisational boundary for GHG emissions, ensuring consistent measurement and reporting of emissions. No significant changes were made to the measurement approach compared to the prior year.
Additionally, the Group has voluntarily disclosed selected categories of Scope 3 GHG emissions for FY26, based on their relevance to the Group’s operations. These include purchased goods and services, capital goods, fuel and energy-related activities, business travel, and employee commuting.
Forward commitments
The Group plans to improve existing measurement methodologies and data quality for Scope 3 GHG emissions, and will disclose Scope 3 GHG emissions in future reporting periods as required under AASB S2.
The Group has not established any climate-related targets, including emission reduction targets, and has not purchased or retired carbon credits for the current reporting period.
The Group’s Risk Management Framework and Climate Risk and Opportunity Register support the ongoing monitoring, management, reporting, and review of climate-related risks and opportunities, which are integrated into the Group’s existing risk management processes.
The Group has applied assumptions, judgements, and estimates in preparing disclosures which relate to forward-looking information and the measurement of greenhouse gas emissions.
