Global Lithium Resources Announces Comprehensive Mine Closure Plan

Global Lithium Resources Limited (GLR) has outlined a detailed mine closure plan, including progressive rehabilitation and a total provision of A$53.0M over the project’s life. The plan is designed to ensure environmental sustainability and compliance with statutory obligations.

Material actions and disclosures

GLR has committed to progressive rehabilitation by statutory obligation and as outlined in the Mine Closure Plan. A$28.0M is charged across the producing years from FY27 to FY40, on a rising profile from A$1.0M to A$3.0M per annum, with a residual programme of A$25.0M from FY42. This total provision of A$53.0M is carried in the cash flow.

Geochemistry is complete and benign for both tailings and rejects, providing a capping medium for progressive works. The performance of the existing waste landform and tailings facility is monitored and known through the IGO handover records. The remaining work involves void placement engineering and the corresponding closure plan amendment, defined scope, not speculation.

GLR’s revised closure plan is submitted when properly required, as continued operation of the Nova mine is considered the better environmental outcome. The plant remains staffed, monitored, and maintained, with the footprint rehabilitated progressively rather than abandoned.
