Endeavour Group has announced significant steps towards its environmental sustainability goals, including ambitious targets to achieve 100% renewable electricity by 2030 and net zero emissions by 2050. The company continues to track and report on its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions and energy consumption data in accordance with the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) Act 2007 and the GHG Protocol.
Material actions and disclosures
During the financial year 2026 (F26), the company set several targets to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions. These include the installation of smart control systems to optimise lighting, refrigeration, and air conditioning across its retail network, which have improved operational efficiency while strengthening the collection and centralisation of energy and emissions data.
Additionally, 20 Dan Murphy’s stores participated in Demand Response trials designed to support electricity network stability during peak demand periods. Building systems automatically adjusted lighting, air conditioning, and refrigeration settings to reduce electricity consumption while maintaining normal store operations.
Endeavour Group also continued to develop its Scope 3 inventory using the GHG Protocol, establishing F25 as its Scope 3 baseline year and reporting F25 Scope 3 emissions data.
Forward commitments
Endeavour Group aims to significantly increase the proportion of renewable electricity supplied across its operations in South Australia from 2027 through a long-term renewable Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
The company is also progressing its renewable electricity strategy through a combination of on-site generation and renewable energy procurement. Solar installations across its network generated 25,363 MWh of renewable electricity during F26, helping to reduce reliance on grid electricity and lower operational emissions.
Furthermore, the company is developing an emissions reduction strategy and mapping opportunities for emission reduction projects to understand the gap to net zero emissions by 2050.
These initiatives are part of Endeavour Group’s broader approach to managing climate-related risks and opportunities, recognising the potential impacts on its operations, supply chain, and communities.
