CTM, a leading travel management company, has reported a 13% reduction in Scope 2 and 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions compared to the previous year, according to its latest sustainability report. The company’s decarbonisation plan, initially introduced as the Climate (net) Positive Program, outlines key climate-related targets and initiatives to further reduce emissions and achieve its decarbonisation goals.
Material actions and disclosures
In FY25, CTM took several steps to improve the accuracy and transparency of its GHG data collection and reporting. These actions included enhancing employee commute reporting through increased engagement with employees and improving the accuracy of waste generation data based on actual and estimated emissions as available for each location.
CTM also engaged an external GHG specialist to support the calculation of its emissions inventory, ensuring methodologies were applied following consultation with internal stakeholders and external subject matter experts. The company’s GHG inventory had external third-party verification, contributing to the overall credibility and reliability of its reported data.
Furthermore, CTM has committed to working with landlords to source renewable energy directly for its offices. Where this is not feasible, the company will invest in renewable energy attributes to meet its targets. CTM aims to achieve a 50% use of renewable energy by FY2027 and a 100% use by FY2030.
CTM’s decarbonisation plan includes investing in co-beneficial offsets which provide benefits to biodiversity, the economy, and social values for the local communities in which it operates. The company also encourages employees to reduce Scope 3 emissions, for example, by switching to low-intensity commuting modes.
Through these initiatives, CTM is on track to meet its carbon reduction targets by FY2030, as outlined in its sustainability performance index.
CTM’s commitment to decarbonisation and sustainability is also reflected in its governance practices. The company has a dedicated Remuneration and Sustainability Committee (RSC) responsible for overseeing the effectiveness of CTM’s sustainability strategies, standards, policies, programs, objectives, and targets.
