Core Lithium Reports Strong Health and Safety Performance in FY26

Core Lithium Ltd has reported zero recordable injuries and zero serious potential incidents in FY26, maintaining a strong safety record as it transitions to active operations at Finniss. The company’s focus on health and safety is a key pillar of its sustainability program, which evolved significantly during the transition from care and maintenance to active operations.

Material actions and disclosures

Core continued to strengthen its health and safety management systems in FY26, with a particular emphasis on proactive hazard identification and reporting. The company implemented Skytrust, a cloud-based safety and compliance software, to improve the management of hazards, incidents, inspections, audits, and risk assessments. This system has enhanced reporting discipline, accountability, and traceability across the business.

Core’s performance and key risks are reported to the Risk and Sustainability Committee, ensuring that safety remains a top priority. The company’s 12-month rolling All Injury Frequency Rate (AIFR) was 0.57, and the Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) was 0.00, indicating a strong safety culture.

As operational activity increases in FY27, Core is focused on defining critical risks and implementing a critical control verification program. The company also aims to strengthen field leadership, contractor mobilisation, and assurance processes, while embedding emergency response arrangements and enhancing health and hygiene monitoring governance.

Core’s sustainability reporting is informed by a materiality assessment undertaken in 2022, which identified ten initial areas of focus for its ESG initiatives, distilled to four overarching areas: health and safety, people, communities, and environment and climate change. With Finniss transitioning to full production, Core intends to refresh its materiality assessment to reflect its current operating environment and regulatory context.

Core’s approach to sustainability remains focused on safe, reliable, and sustainable operations that consider the wellbeing of its people, the environment, and the communities in which it operates. The company is committed to fulfilling its obligations under emerging mandatory climate-related financial disclosure requirements.
