BCI Minerals has reported on its biodiversity and ecological integrity efforts, alongside achieving its health and safety targets, including a TRIFR of 4.4, below the target of 5.0. The company maintained biodiversity and ecological integrity through monitoring and management programs, and updated its waste management policies. A holistic water strategy was also developed to manage current and future water requirements.
Material actions and disclosures
BCI Minerals received all required annual reports for biodiversity monitoring and management during the reporting period. Recommendations from monitoring programs were reviewed and considered or actioned as required. The company’s waste management policy was revised and updated in June 2026. A holistic water strategy was completed in November 2025 and will be reviewed annually.
The TRIFR was 4.4 at 30 June 2026, achieving the target of 1.0. A total of 1138 critical control verifications were completed during the year. The Leadership in the Field program continued, resulting in 1340 interactions between leaders, employees, and contractors.
The Capacity Building Sponsorship Agreement with Wirrawandi Aboriginal Corporation was executed and came into effect on 17 October 2025. A new partnership was established with the Karratha Kangaroos Junior Rugby League Club. A Community Investment Program was implemented, with increased sponsorship with the Pilbara Kimberley University Centres.
Forward commitments
BCI Minerals plans to develop a holistic water balance strategy for the Mardie site by November 2025. The company aims to implement the Climate Adaptation and Resilience Strategy (CARS) to mitigate risks and explore opportunities resulting from a changing climate. BCI Minerals also expects to secure approval to increase groundwater abstraction under the Environmental Protection Act 1986 and Rights in Water and Irrigation Act 1914.
BCI Minerals will continue to strengthen data systems and reporting processes to better measure performance, track progress, and support informed decision-making. The company will deepen the partnership with the Wirrawandi Aboriginal Corporation through the Capacity Building Sponsorship Agreement and continue to facilitate supplier capability development to support Indigenous businesses entering the supply chain.
