Arafura has reduced its operational emissions to 43 tCO₂e from 70.9 tCO₂e in FY2025, demonstrating a commitment to reducing its environmental impact. The company’s emissions reduction pathway is designed to manage climate-related risks and opportunities, and is embedded within its enterprise-wide risk and opportunity management process.
The Nolans Project, located 135km north of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory, is designed to withstand harsh and extreme weather conditions, with infrastructure capable of coping with more severe future weather. The project aims to provide a reliable supply of rare earth products essential for electric vehicles and wind turbines, positioning Arafura as a responsible global provider of rare earths.
Forward commitments
Arafura aims to use high-quality carbon offsets in addition to direct emissions abatement to achieve its net zero emissions target by 2050. The company also plans to continue its analysis of emissions reduction pathways, highlighting emerging transition-related risks and opportunities.
