WiseTech Global Limited has reported a significant increase in its total greenhouse gas emissions for the financial year ended 30 June 2026. The company’s emissions grew by 28.7% to 92,788 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e), compared to 72,000 tCO2e in the previous year. This growth was predominantly driven by an increase in Scope 3 emissions, which rose by 30.0% to 89,277 tCO2e.
Material actions and disclosures
WiseTech’s emissions are reported in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and AASB S2’s Scope 3 measurement framework. The company’s organizational boundary is set using operational control, consistent with its prior reporting period. WiseTech’s emissions are measured across three scopes:
- Scope 1: Direct emissions from sources owned or controlled by WiseTech, including fuel combustion in boilers, generators, and company-operated vehicles. Scope 1 emissions increased by 69.8% to 483 tCO2e.
- Scope 2: Indirect emissions from the generation of purchased electricity, heating, or cooling consumed by facilities or vehicles within WiseTech’s operational control. Scope 2 emissions increased by 2.1% to 3,028 tCO2e.
- Scope 3: Indirect emissions occurring in WiseTech’s upstream and downstream value chain, excluding electricity use covered under Scope 2. Scope 3 emissions increased by 30.0% to 89,277 tCO2e.
WiseTech’s value chain emissions boundary is determined through a third-party reviewed assessment of all 15 Scope 3 categories and their relevance to the company. The company prioritizes categories that are expected to generate significant emissions, offer meaningful opportunities for reduction, and are most relevant to its business goals.
WiseTech also measures its Scope 2 emissions using a market-based methodology to reflect emissions from purchased renewable electricity. Scope 2 (market-based) emissions increased by 14.6% to 2,540 tCO2e.
Forward commitments
WiseTech has outlined its Net Zero Carbon ambition as part of its Sustainability & ESG Framework, which encompasses three impact priorities: Net Zero Carbon, Education, and People & Culture. The company’s Net Zero Carbon ambition is for its global operations to be Net Zero Carbon and for its products to support customers to reduce emissions from global logistics and supply chains.
During the year ended 30 June 2026, WiseTech undertook a consultant-led assessment of the feasibility of establishing formal climate targets. The company concluded that formal targets are not necessary at this stage. However, WiseTech continues to explore opportunities to reduce emissions across its value chain.
