Southern Cross Electrical Engineering Limited (SCEE) has disclosed its FY26 emissions, with Scope 1 and 2 emissions totaling 4,768 tCO2e. The company reported 3,914 tCO2e for Scope 1 emissions, primarily from transport fuel consumption, and 854 tCO2e for Scope 2 emissions, arising from purchased electricity. The emissions calculation methodology complies with AASB S2, and the organisational boundary for reporting includes SCEE and its wholly owned subsidiaries.

Material actions and disclosures

The company did not identify significant impacts from climate-related risks on its strategy or business model. It also did not disclose any Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions, adhering to the transition provisions permitted under AASB S2. The company’s strategy is considered resilient under the scenarios considered, noting the inherent uncertainty associated with climate modelling and forward-looking scenario analysis.

According to the report, extreme weather events were identified as a physical risk relevant to the company’s operations and workforce, primarily through potential disruption to service delivery at client sites. However, the company’s exposure is generally indirect, and mitigations and adaptations are in place to manage such risks.

Forward commitments

The company has outlined plans to continue assessing the availability of relevant data and the exposure to climate-related risks in each future reporting period. It will also continue to monitor the resilience of its strategy under a range of plausible future climate conditions and maintain a low GHG emissions base.
