Propel Funeral Partners has outlined its commitment to robust corporate governance, including independent board composition, induction programs, and adherence to ethical standards.
Material actions and disclosures
The company has a majority of independent directors, with Naomi Edwards serving as an independent, non-executive chair. The company also maintains a code of conduct and whistleblower policy, ensuring that any material breaches are reported to the board. Additionally, Propel Funeral Partners has set measurable objectives for achieving gender diversity, with 50% of the board and one-third of senior executives being women as of the date of the Corporate Governance Statement.
The company has established a combined Audit and Risk Committee and a Remuneration and Nomination Committee, both chaired by independent directors. The Audit and Risk Committee meets with the external auditor at least twice a year to review financial statements and risk management processes.
Propel Funeral Partners also ensures that all substantive resolutions at shareholder meetings are decided by a poll, and it encourages shareholders to receive communications electronically to facilitate more efficient and environmentally friendly communication.
Forward commitments
The company plans to appoint Ms Sonia Petering AM as a director, effective following the release of the Company’s financial statements for FY26 to the ASX on 25 August 2026. The appointment will be subject to shareholder approval at the Company’s AGM in November 2026.
Propel Funeral Partners aims to periodically review the performance of its board, committees, and individual directors, as well as the performance of senior executives, to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with the company’s values and risk appetite.
