Minrex Resources Outlines Sustainability Pillars for Tlamino Gold-Silver Project

Minrex Resources Limited has outlined its commitment to embedding sustainability into the development of its Tlamino Gold-Silver Project in Serbia, with a focus on environmental protection and community benefit. The company has established six Sustainability Pillars that will be incorporated into the project’s development case and applied across its broader portfolio.

Material actions and disclosures

The Sustainability Pillars reflect Minrex’s commitment to designing projects that protect water and land, minimise long-term environmental risk, and share the benefits of development with host communities and countries. The company will benchmark its standards against leading international frameworks, including the IFC Performance Standards, the EBRD Performance Requirements, and relevant European Union standards.

Minrex is committed to designing tailings facilities in line with the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management, applying the highest standards of safety and independent oversight across their full life cycle. The company will also manage water as a shared resource, designing its projects to minimise freshwater use, maximise recycling, and protect the quality of rivers and catchments that communities rely on.

Minrex will apply Best Available Techniques (BAT) as defined under European Union environmental regulation to the design of its projects, adopting proven technologies that minimise emissions, waste, and environmental footprint.

Minrex aims to prioritise local employment, training, and procurement, building skills and supply chains that create long-term opportunities for the people and businesses of the regions where it operates. The company will work in genuine partnership with its host communities, engaging early and openly so that the value created by its projects is shared and contributes to regional and national prosperity.

Forward commitments

Minrex will continue to formalise these frameworks and report on its progress as the Tlamino Gold-Silver Project advances towards development. The Sustainability Pillars have been built into the scope of work for the upcoming Tlamino Scoping Study, ensuring that water, tailings, reagent selection, community benefit, and best available techniques are considered from the earliest stage of project design.

Minrex Resources Limited is committed to transparent reporting on its sustainability efforts and progress as it continues to develop its Tlamino Gold-Silver Project and other projects in its portfolio.
