Hazer Advances Commercialisation of Low-Emissions Hydrogen Technology

Hazer Group Limited has completed a commercial-scale Process Design Package (PDP) with KBR, marking a significant step in the commercialisation of its low-emissions hydrogen technology. The PDP provides a detailed engineering foundation for project evaluation and feasibility studies, reinforcing confidence in the scalability and economic viability of the Hazer Process.

Material actions and disclosures

Hazer has achieved over 49 months of Lost Time Injury (LTI)-free operations since the handover of the Commercial Demonstration Plant in June 2022, maintaining excellent safety performance. The company has also seen a marked increase in commercial engagement across multiple industrial sectors and geographies, with multiple project opportunities in steel, ammonia, clean fuels, and data centres.

Hazer has entered into several strategic partnerships and memorandums of understanding, including with FortisBC in Canada, M Resources for the Whyalla Steelworks redevelopment, and Kemira for the production of hydrogen peroxide. These collaborations support the ongoing evaluation of Hazer’s technology and products in various industrial applications.

Graphite remains a key differentiator within the Hazer Process, and the company has made substantial progress in graphite market development. Independent testing confirmed that Hazer graphite can meet Australian infrastructure specifications and relevant international standards for concrete and asphalt applications, providing access to significant construction and infrastructure markets.

Forward commitments

Hazer aims to continue expanding its commercial pipeline and strategic partnerships, with a focus on monetising both hydrogen and graphite to enhance the economics of future deployments. The company plans to progress multiple opportunities across sectors including ammonia, clean fuels, refining, steelmaking, and industrial decarbonisation.
