Charter Hall Group has achieved Net Zero emissions for Scope 1 and Scope 2 for Australian assets as of 1 July 2025, marking a significant milestone in its environmental management strategy. The Group’s suite of listed, wholesale, and direct funds attracts capital from institutional and private investors across Australia, Europe, and Asia, with a focus on sustainability and decarbonisation.
Material actions and disclosures
Charter Hall Group has a history of strong environmental performance, with $17.9 billion in assets with NABERS Energy ratings of 5 Star or above, and $49.7 billion in assets with green star performance ratings. The Group has also secured over $8.2 billion in sustainable finance funds under management (FUM).
Additionally, the Group has installed 96MW of onsite solar in FY26, compared to 5.2MW in FY19, contributing to a lower cost of electricity for tenants and supporting their decarbonisation activities. The Group aims to divert 60% of waste from landfill by 2030 for Office and Retail Shopping Centres, and plans to reduce tenant emission intensity by 60% by 2030.
Forward commitments
Looking ahead, Charter Hall Group has a long-term ambition of achieving Net Zero emissions (Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3) by 2050. The Group is focused on electrification, energy efficiency, and the use of low global warming refrigerants to reduce emissions.
