Mercury NZ has engaged directly with the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) as it updates its power sector guidance. The company continues to monitor the impact of proposed changes to the GHG Protocol’s Scope 2 guidance and is committed to reducing emissions across its value chain, including Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3.
Mercury NZ’s emissions intensity for FY26 was 0.0191 kg CO2e/kWh, a 18% decrease from FY25. The company’s focus on geothermal non-condensable gas (NCG) reinjection remains a key strategy to reduce emissions intensity.
